Nirmal Singh reviews security for Modi’s J&K visit

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Saturday did an on-the-spot review of the arrangements made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on Sunday.

The Deputy Chief Minister visited Bhattal Ballian, Udhampur, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting after inaugurating the Chenani-Nashri tunnel.

The BJP leader called for putting in place a foolproof mechanism vis-a-vis security and other related measures, so that people attending the meeting do not face inconvenience.

He urged the security agencies and other concerned departments to work in close coordination.

Earlier, Singh had a detailed meeting with the Udhampur district administration officials regarding the arrangements put in place for the inauguration of the tunnel.

A high alert has been sounded throughout the state including the borders to ensure that there was no breach of security during the visit.
