Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary G Niranjan on Wednesday took serious note on former government advisor and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao’s objection for not placing former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s portrait in the Youth Congress State Committee’s swearing in ceremony.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Niranjan said that there was no need for the APYC to place former chief minister YSR’s photo in the meeting as he did not give any inspiration to youth. He said that the leaders have to place AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s photo in the youth Congress committee meetings.
Niranjan accused KVP of raising the photo issue in order to create differences among the youth Congress leaders. He said that the Congress leaders did not place YSR’s photo in the programmes following demand from their family members not to use his photo. He asked as to why KVP did not respond to allegations leveled by YSRCP leaders against the Congress party.
He alleged that KVP raised the photo issue to break unity and integrity among the Youth Congress wing. (INN)
