New Delhi, June 22: Kerala continued to grapple with the spurt in swine flu deaths since the onset of monsoon this year with the coastal state reporting nine out of 13 deaths due to disease across the country in a week from June 15.
Maharashtra reported three deaths and Andhra Pradesh one during that time.
Kerala reported 117 swine flu cases, Maharashtra 28 and Karnataka 17, Union Health Ministry officials said.
With these cases, the swine flu death toll in Kerala since the monsoon hit the state has risen to 25.
Kerala reported 16 deaths from May 15 till June 15, prompting the central government to send a three-member team to the state to assess the situation.
In the week from June 8 to June 14, Kerala reported 10 of the 14 deaths due to the disease across the country.
