Hyderabad: Directing the officials to work on a mission mode to complete the flagship program of ‘Mission Bhagiratha’ by December this year, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today sought electricity officials to work for 10 days at least for the project, works of which have to be expedited.
At a review meeting on the water project at MCR HRD here, the chief minister discussed on the works and expressed content on the plan to supply water to 9 segments by April. He also asked them to complete design for the project by March end and complete the works of laying pipelines through farm lands by June. He said that only the best quality pipes should be used by avoiding the use of cement pipes which may lead to cause diseases. KCR asked the contractors to continue to maintain the pipelines even after completion of the works. The works related to digging of contours at villages should be taken up under employment guarantee scheme and press local ITI personnel to complete the works.
Stressing on the need for coordination between the officials, engineers and the contractors for the timely completion of the Mission Bhagiratha works, he said that Chief Minister’s Office will intervene and take stringent action if designs and permissions are delayed. Water supply to the selected villages under the segments should begin soon after the completion of the works of water treatment plants. The officials can get pipes and other material from the best companies across the nation if those companies in Telangana could not supply them. He also asked the officials to recruit necessary staff, lay internal pipelines with care, put up transformers, power-lines and construction of substations without delay.(NSS)
