Nine new solar plants installed on Delhi Metro to meet energy requirements

New Delhi, Aug.4 : In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Delhi Metro announced the installation of nine new solar power plants on the Badarpur-Faridabad section to meet its energy requirements partially.

A Delhi Metro release said that it expected 1,660.4 kWp to be generated from these solar plants.

The release said that the energy generated would be used for lighting and other auxiliary requirements of the station and depot buildings.

The plants have come up at up at NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk, Escorts Mujesar stations and Ajronda Depot. (ANI)
