Nine poor people have lost their eye sight due to faulty surgery at a private hospital in Ongole.
According to information, the hospital management which found that surgeries they performed had failed, rushed the patients secretly to the government Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Hyderabad for examination and further treatment. However surgeons of the SD Hospital have found that the eyes of all the patients were seriously damaged and they had lost eye sight permanently.
Responding to the incident, Medical and Health department authorities have raided the hospital in Ongole and seized the equipment used for the surgeries. They sent the equipment and medicines used by the hospital for examination. They said once they get report and find that there was faulty surgical procedure or use of improper medication or wrong equipment, the hospital would be seized. (NSS)
