Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said the State government would supply power for nine hours free to crops during day for the ensuing Rabi season.
Talking to mediapersons in Nalgonda, the minister said the KCR government would keep its promise of nine hour power supply to the crops and arrangements to this effect were being made. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was going ahead with a perfect plan with a focus on welfare and development, Jagadish Reddy said. Accusing the Congress of resorting to murky politics through organizing padayatras on farmers’ suicides, Jagadish Reddy said though the State got rid of the problem of anti-Telangana leaders by achieving statehood, the Opposition leaders were still acting against the Telangana State development and welfare of the people. He also alleged that the Congress and the Telugu Desam leaders were resorting to mud-slinging against the government for cheap publicity. Barring foul play by the Opposition, the Chief Minister was determined to take forward the State towards monumental development, he said. He also chided the Opposition for not coming forward to resolve the problems of farmers and poor in the State. (NSS)
