Shillong, April 13: The BSF today apprehended nine Indian citizens as they were sneaking in from Bangladesh side along the international border in Jaintia Hills district.
About 250 kg of dry fish was seized from the arrested persons who entered India illegally near Kulaing in Jaintia Hills district, BSF sources said.
The apprehended persons, who had earlier crossed over to the neighbouring country and were now returning, have been identified as Tuku, Kasar Sangma, Kolas Marak, Inu Sangma, Munar Sangma, Siraj Sangma, Polas Sangma, Suranjan Marak and Unij Marak.
All claimed to be residents of Khliehriat in Jaintia Hills district.
