Hyderabad, January 22: Police on Thursday registered nine criminal cases in connection with the incidents of attacks and arson on Osmania University campus on Wednesday during the funeral procession of a MCA student K. Venugopal Reddy.
Sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon) and 332 (hurting public servants to deter them from discharging duties) of Indian Penal Code, among others were invoked against the accused.
Names of Rammohan, Marri Anil, K. Rajesham, Sri Ram and Venkatesh figured among the accused in the nine cases.
