Chief Minister KCR announced on Tuesday that an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be set up at Bibinagar in Nalgonda. The little-known Bibinagar town could well emerge as the medical hub of the new Telangana state soon.
As per the AP Reorganisation Act, the Centre has allotted an AIIMS to Telangana as well as AP. The Chief Minister paid a visit to Bibinagar reviewing the availability of land after Center gave a nod for AIIMS in Telangana.
Saying why He has choose Bibi Nagar, Rao said, as NIMS-Bibinagar is closer to Hyderabad and the Outer Ring Road and is also located on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway, the under-construction hospital is suitable for setting up AIIMS,” The facility will be helpful for people of all the districts in Telangana, he added.
