NIMS, the best after AIIMS: Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is number one Hospital in the country after AIIMS for providing best healthcare services, Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy has said.

Launching modern 128 Slice CT Scan facility worth Rs 6.5 crore at the second floor of emergency block in the NIMS Hospital here on Saturday, the minister said they have upgraded it with all latest equipment and modern technologies. NIMS, he said, has been offering best health services surpassing the corporate and private hospitals in the State. The hospital was providing free of cost health care services to the people, the minister said.

Lakshma Reddy said they have offered Rs 78 crore worth modern equipment and paraphernalia to the NIMS. He also said they have upgraded the emergency ward capacity by increasing the bed strength to 90 from the existing 40 beds to cater to the growing needs of the patients, he said. Stating that Gynaecology and Paediatric departments will be launched soon, the minister said for Kidney and Liver transplantation and OP, separate buildings will be constructed.

“Since the Niloufer Hospital was burdened with patient rush, we plan to launch soon the Gynaecology and Paediatric departments. The government will fill some vacant posts of Doctors and 3,000 nurses on getting final verdict from courts”, he added. He also warned of serious action against the doctors and staff if they failed to discharge their duties and cause inconvenience to the patients. There was no need to doubt on autonomous status to MNJ Hospital and the patients are getting 100 per cent services free of cost. He also asked those who are protesting to withdraw and come for talks to resolve the issues if any.
