Night run of passengers trains suspended till July 29

Bhubaneswar, July 25: East Coast Railway (ECR) today suspended operation of passenger trains on Kharagpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Adra sections during night hours till July 29 for security reasons owing to threat from Maoists.

Some trains have been diverted and rescheduled on the route to avoid their movement from 10 pm to 5 am, an ECR release said here.

The 8477/8478 Puri-Hardwar-Puri Utkal Express would run via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Cuttack instead of Jharsuguda-Tata-Kharagpur-Cuttack.

Similarly, 8005/8006 Howrah-Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express will run via Howrah-Kharagpur-Bhadrak-Angul-Sambalpur Howrah-Kharagpur-Tata-Jharsuguda-Sambalpur.

The 8419 Puri-Darbhanga Weekly Express, 8449 Puri-Patna Baidyanathdham Express and 5639 Puri-Guwahati Express scheduled to leave Puri during this period have been rescheduled to leave Puri at 10 pm.

On July 8, night run of passenger trains on the Kharagpur-Tata and Kharagpur-Adra sections of the South Eastern Railway were suspended till July 13 for similar reasons.
