Ahmedabad, December 20: A Nigerian national was arrested with 280 gm heroine from Navrangpura area here today by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Abaaco Francis alias Emanual (30), was arrested trying to courier the narcotics to South Africa, NCB superintendent P N Sarvaiya said.
“The Nigerian had come here from Delhi yesterday with seven ladies purses. He had hidden the heroine inside the lining of five purses and was going to courier it to South Africa,” Sarvaiya told PTI.
“Based on a tip off, we nabbed Abaaco while he was in to courier the consignment,” he added.
According to Sarvaiya, the heroine recovered from the five bags weighs 280 gm and could be worth Rs 25-28 lakh in international market.
Police are interrogating the Nigerian to know the source of the narcotics.
