New Delhi : The market on Tuesday ended lower as expected with the Sensex dipping 253.11 points or one percent at 24551.17.
Nifty on the other hand slipped 78.15 points or one percent at 7460.60 ahead of Fed meet.
Shares of SBI, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, Axis Bank and BHEL were top gainers while Lupin, HDFC, Dr Reddy’s, Sun Pharma and Cipla were among losers.
Goldman Sachs downgraded Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) to sell from neutral and slashed target price to Rs. 990 from Rs. 1,190 earlier as it feels core business of corporate lending is likely to be pressured.
According to market experts, HDFC will continue to underperform board Sensex and retail private banks. (ANI)
