New Delhi : The market in the session on Friday ended with gains as the Sensex ended up 94.65 points or 0.4 percent at 24717.99, and the Nifty was up 24.05 points or 0.3 percent at 7510.20.
Shares in the gainers category included Lupin, HUL, Adani Ports, Tata Motors and ITC, whereas among laggards were Coal India, ICICI Bank, BHEL, Tata Steel and NTPC.
To decide on the borrowing calendar of the government for April-September period of the next fiscal, the Finance Ministry and Reserve Bank officials are likely to meet on March 18.
In the Budget, the government has pegged gross market borrowing at Rs. six lakh crore, up from Rs. 5.8 lakh crore in the ongoing fiscal.
“The market borrowing calendar for the first half of next fiscal would be decided on March 18. RBI and Finance Ministry will a call on whether to front load the borrowing in such a manner that it is non-disruptive,” said a source. (ANI)
