Washington: Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie are in negotiations to join Annapurna Pictures’ “Fair and Balanced”, a movie about disgraced Fox News Chief Roger Ailes.
If a deal is settled, Nichole will be playing the role of former Fox news anchor Gretchen Carlson and Robbie will be seen playing the character of a fictional Fox News associate producer named Kayla Pospisil.
Kidman will be joining Charlize Theron, who will be playing the role of former Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Scripted by ‘The Big Short’ screenwriter Charles Randolph, the film will be directed by ‘Trumbo’ director Jay Roach.
Roger Ailes used to run Fox News before he resigned in 2016 following a sexual harassment allegation. He was one of the well-known people in Republican circles who helped elect presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George Bush.
Kidman recently won an Emmy for her show ‘Big Little Lies’. Her upcoming credits include Warner Bros. “Aquaman,” “Destroyer,” “Boy Erased” and WB’s adaptation of “The Goldfinch.” Margot Robbie will be next seen in “Mary Queen of Scots” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”
Charlize Theron is currently working with Seth Rogen in the upcoming Lionsgate comedy ‘Flarksy’
