NIA Sleuths bring 2 More suspects of city blasts from Nellore

Sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) brought two more suspects of the Hyderabad twin blasts from Nellore for questioning. The duo was being questioned at the office of the NIA in Begumpet.

Meanwhile, the sleuths continued questioning of Indian Mujahideen terrorists Maqbool and Imran Khan brought from Delhi’s Tihar jail for the third day on Sunday. In a secret mission, the two were taken in a special vehicle around the main centers of Hyderabad at midnight on Saturday, for a reconstruction of the crime scene. They were taken round Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts site, Begum Bazaar, Secunderabad, Raj Bhavan Road, Kothi, Abids and other places. It is learnt they had admitted to have conducted reccee when the NIA officials questioned them at their office till midnight. It is learnt that they had admitted to have conducted reccee at 12 places with an intention of blasting bombs.

According to information, Indian Mujahideen chief Riyaz Bhatkal and his brother Yaseen Bhatkal planned the Hyderabad blasts last year itself. They had initially targeted the Sai Baba temple at Dilsukhnagar. However, as there were CC cameras at the temple’s main entrance, Maqbool searched for other suitable sites.

He had identified the twin blast sites where there would be heavy rush of pedestrians and shoppers and without much of police surveillance. However, even as he was planning blasts in Hyderabad, Maqbool was caught by the Maharashtra ATS police in connection with the Pune blasts.

NIA agents are now trying to find out who met Maqbool in the Tihar jail. It is learnt that the agency had identified 12 youngsters of Hyderabad, who had met Maqbool, on the basis of the CC camera footage at the Tihar jail. The agency found in its later investigation that all the 12 youths had gone underground after the Hyderabad blasts. It is learnt that Maqbool told the investigators that some of them had gone to Dubai in the guise of employment and reached Pakistan where they were trained in the terrorist training camps. (NSS)
