NIA to produce two SIMI operatives in Patna court on Dec 5

A local court on Monday granted three-day transit remand of two SIMI operatives, including alleged mastermind of Bodhgaya temple blasts Umer Siddiqui, to NIA in connection with explosions at Narendra Modi’s rally at Patna in October in which five persons were killed.

They will be produced before a designated court of Patna on Thursday.

“The court of additional chief judicial magistrate Sangeeta Naveen Tiwari granted the transit remand of Siddiqui and Azharuddin Samshuddin Qureshi to NIA and they will be produced in Patna court on Dec 5,” City SP (Civil Lines) Rakesh Bhatt told PTI.

Siddiqui, who runs a coaching centre in Raja Talab area here, is one of the 14 operatives of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) arrested last month from the state capital Raipur.
