NIA in Modasa to review 2008 blast probe status

Ahmedabad/Banaskantha, July 18: An Inspector General of the National Investigation Team (NIA) today reached Modasa in Sabarkantha to review the investigation into the 2008 blast there which killed one person, police said.

NIA IG (investigations) Sanjeev Kumar Singh who is supervising the probe into the Modasa blast case met with district police officials and other members of the NIA who have been camping here since last week, they said.

NIA DIG R P Meena, who is heading the probe in the Modasa blast, has been staying in Modasa with two other officials of the agency. Singh would be in Gujarat for the next 3-4 days, police said.

DSP K K Mysorewala, who was the investigating officer of the 2008 blast case, said the district police has already handed over the documents related to the case to NIA which has taken over the investigation last month.
