New Delhi: 10 suspects who were arrested by the terror investigative agency NIA have been produced in Delhi court on Thursday. The court sent all of them to 12 days remand. Saying that investigation into larger conspiracy was needed to be done, NIA had sought a remand of 15 days.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) had conducted the simultaneous raids on 16 places in various cities of the country. During the crackdown, it also conducted raids in Radhna and Laliyana village of Kathor in Meerut and arrested 5 suspects.
According to sources, NIA, ATS, Delhi police, UP police and other security agencies in a joint drive conducted raids in Amroha and arrested several persons.
According to government sources, a Maulana was also arrested in Hapur by the ATS. The suspects arrested in Amroha are believed to be the aides of the sleeping module of ISIS.
Raids were conducted by the NIA at 17 places including six in Delhi and 11 in Uttar Pradesh.
