New Delhi, May 19: The National Human Rights Commission has sought a report from Delhi government, taking cognizance of an incident in which two boys died and more than 50 people fell ill allegedly after drinking contaminated water supplied by DJB here last month.
Issuing a notice to the Delhi government in this regard, the NHRC has asked it to submit a report about the incident within four weeks and said that “in default the commission may proceed to take such action as it may deem proper”.
NHRC took cognizance of the case on the basis of a complaint filed by a rights activist and lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy.
