Bhopal, August 14 (Pervez Bari): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was presented a dividend cheque for Rs. 19.20 crore by Chief Executive Director of N.H.D.C (Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation) Mr. K.M Singh for the year of 2010-11 on Friday.
N.H.D.C is a joint company of N.H.P.C and the Madhya Pradesh Government. On this occasion, senior officers of the corporation were also present.
In the year 2010-11, N.H.D.C earned a net profit of Rs. 304 crore by generating 3196 M.U. electricity. The Corporation had earned a net profit of Rs. 212 crore in the preceding fiscal year 2009-10. A dividend of Rs. 10 crore was given to the State Government last year.
It may be mentioned here that N.H.D.C Limited is the largest hydroelectric generation company of Madhya Pradesh and has been continuously giving dividends to the Madhya Pradesh Government and N.H.P.C (National Hydro Power Corporation)Limited.
Now, this company has decided to set up a project of 1320 megawatt Reva Thermal Power project by mobilizing its own financial resources. This project will be accomplished under 12th five-year plan. In collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Government, the company is also foraying into other projects like in thermal power generation, wind and solar energy sectors apart from its hydroelectric generation task.
