A delegation of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Organization led by its president Gopal Reddy on Tuesday threatened to intensify the protest from September 25 if the government fails to fulfill their long-pending demands.
Talking to reporters at media point in the State Secretariat after submitting a memorandum to Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew, Gopal Reddy said that the government has totally failed to honour the promises made to the employees regarding several pending demands including disbursal of health cards to employees. He said that the NGOs would observe three phased agitation from Taluk level to State capital from September 25.
Though the employees were demanding setting up of 10th Pay Revision Commission to meet the expenditure, he alleged that the government was resorting to delaying tactics since three years despite employees paying Rs 20 crore towards their part. He also demanded regularization of part-time, contract and outsourcing employees working in various departments in the government.
Gopal Reddy also appealed to government to restore 1800 health workers were sacked recently, on humanitarian basis. He also demanded transfer of Nellore District Education Officer for harassing employees on flimsy reasons. He also urged that the government fill four lakh vacancies lying vacant for last several years. (INN)
