Greater Noida: A city-based NGO will organise karate training session for women at different venues here even as authorities seek to impart self-defense skills to female students.
The NGO, Mahila Shakti Sammajik Sammittee, said they would hold karate training for women with the help of district administration at community centres or some school ground.
District Inspector of School (DIS) PK Upadhyay informed that karate training was provided to female students at 15 government schools on the District’s Magistrate’s directions recently.
Now 15 more schools have been identified and Karate training plan finalised for them. Aim is to cover all the schools in phases, the DIS said.
Sadhna Sinha, the NGO representative, said police presence on each street and corner is not possible and women have to be pro-active and take self defense measures.
