Hyderabad, August 15: In order to promote eco-friendly Ganesha idols, the National Green Corps will organise workshops for the NGC students and teachers across the city for 400 schools belonging to Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts on making clay idols from 22nd to 31st August.
Those schools which are interested in promoting the Eco Friendly Clay Ganesh Idols for Puja at home or in their flats and those schools wanting clay for the NGC students of their school may contact NGC at 23221159, 9885311134 for the information on availability of the clay at various location in the twin cities.
To promote Practical Environmental Education through live projects, NGC has introduced community composting this year as a learning tool on the process of composting. Now, the focus is on promoting clay idols for community worship in all 23 districts in the state. Clay Ganesh Idols are being utilized for learning about the concerns relating to the local medicinal plants, biodiversity conservation, and protection of water bodies, clay soil composition and their relationship to each other.
On the occasion of Ganesh Chavithi, in order to promote interest in eco friendly and natural clay idols, clay is being supplied free of cost by National Green Corps to promote children’s interest in working with soil, nature and natural products.
