Hyderabad: Demanding that the UP police arrest and file SC/ST Atrocities case against Uttar Pradesh State BJP vice-president Dayashankar Singh for making derogatory remarks against BSP chief Mayawati, the activists of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) today burnt an effigy of the BJP government at the Centre at Himayat Nagar here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, NIFW State president and general secretary Potu Kalavathi and Ustela Srujana have demanded that the Centre file an SC/ST Atrocities case and scrap Rajya Sabha membership of Dayasankar Singh. They stated that it was not new to BJP leaders to speak in this manner against Daliths.
NIFW State working president N Jyothi lashed out at the BJP alleging that not only BJP leaders but also BJP Ministers were speaking as they wished after their party coming to power at the Centre. She demanded that the Gujarat government arrest 17 accused connected with the attack on Daliths. She also alleged that there was no protection to Dalits and women under BJP ruled.
NIFW leaders—Manda Sadalaxmi, Rekha, Sridevi, Sunitha, Nagalaxmi, Sneha, Madhuri and others participated in the program. (NSS)
