New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking urgent intervention in connection with the strike in Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd.
Around 15,000 employees of public sector NLC commenced an indefinite strike on July 21 to press their demand for wage revision.
The strike, which has been called by 13 trade unions, was followed by the failure of talks between them and the management.
According to reports, the decision to go on strike was taken at a meeting of the Joint Action Council of the trade unions, including CITU, INTUC, AITUC and AIADMK union. (ANI)
