The next Sunshine of Muslim Welfare and Counsel will be from Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 02: Prof. Akhtar-ul-Wasey, Head of the Dept. of Islamic studies Jamia Millia, New Delhi told that Allah, the Lord of the universe, by making the angels worship Adam, has clearly given a message that those who do not have knowledge have to bow down before those who possess knowledge. So long as Muslim Ummah was in possession of knowledge the other nations were subservient to it. When the Muslims became devoid of knowledge they had to bow down before other nations.

Even if we awake today there would be dawn while inaugurating the Research Foundation of M.S. Education Academy on the occasion of its Foundation Day Celebrations on the successful completion of 20 years of service for the cause of education, Professor Akhtar-ul-Wasey said this. He also said that when a nation reaches the stage of decline or downfall, superstitions and strange thoughts flourish. Under these influences, the Muslim Community bifurcated knowledge into religions knowledge and the wordly wisdom whereas the Prophet of Islam (SAWS) had categorized knowledge into fruitful and disgraceful ones.

The Prophet (SAWS) had stressed the need to gain fruitful knowledge but we paid more a attention to non-beneficial knowledge. He told that he is proclaiming not as an advocate of modernity but as a staunch follower of the Prophet (SAWS) that we have to make a distinction between the profitable and un-profitable knowledge. It is the only pride of human history that Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) laid the foundation of a unique system of education in which all the seekers of knowledge were the Muslims and the teachers were the non-Muslims.

The Prophet of Islam (SAWS) had put only two conditions to prisoners of war of the Battle of Badar pay ranson (fidiyah) and get freedom release or each prisoner should teach then Muslims. All these prisoners were non-Muslims and they had not comprehended the teachings of Islam but they had gained only worldy knowledge and wisdom. They taught Arabic to Muslims which made them understand the Quran.

In an era when it was not allowed to listen to any word of wisdom, Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) instructed the Ummah to acquire knowledge wherever it is available since it is our lost ancestral property. Learning is an never-ending process. The Prophet (SAWS) said that the acquisition of knowledge should continue from cradle to grave. Stressing the need to educate our girls, Prof. Akhtarul-Wasey told that the day when our sisters and mothers are equipped with knowledge our families and houses would become peaceful and would turn into citadel of wisdom. It is most unfortunate that we are neglecting girls education.

Recalling the tragic incidents of Police Action in Hyderabad after 1947, he compared it with the turmoil Delhi had faced in 1857 but Hyderabad faced the adverse situation with courage and created opportunities for the welfare of the Muslim Community.

Senior journalist from New Delhi Mr. Wadood Sajid who attended the function as the Chief Guest told that Islam has always laid stress on thinking and research in the universe and its functioning and Islam is not against science. The early opponents of science are those who are following science today. In the beginning, the church had opposed science and it caused the death of many scientists.

He applauded the yeomen service Siasat is offering for the Muslim Community and the congenial atmosphere it created among the Urdu journalists of Hyderabad. Mr. Mohammed Lateef Khan, recalling the reminiscences of the journey of M.S. Academy told that he had started it twenty years back. During the past two decades it passed through difficult phases and it has established 22 educational institutions including two in Delhi and one in Karimnagar. The motto of the Academy is to equip the young ones with professional knowledge and also the teachings of Islam. To fulfill these objectives, the academy started “M.S. Research Foundation”. It is our effort to impart Islamic knowledge through practice so that the minds of our students are filled with the firm behaf of Allah.

Earlier, chief Research officer Mohammed Ibrahim Khan and the Director Abdus Samad highlighted the objectives of the Research Foundation. The top rankers of S.S.C. and Intermediate from M.S. Education Centres were felicitated and mementos were presented to them. Mr. Mohammed Moazzam Hussain and Mr. Anwar Ahmed, the directors of M.S. Education Academy were also present.
