The merriment over the wedding of a dalit couple turned into mourning for their families when their bodies were found under mysterious circumstances in their room at Baidiyav village this morning.
Preliminary investigation suggested that Praveen Sagar (24) and Khandwa-resident Saraswati — who tied the nuptial knot on Monday — could have died of suffocation caused by using a kerosene generator inside a closed room after a power cut at around 0300 hrs, police said.
When the couple did not emerge from their room in the morning, a window was opened and the shocking truth was revealed. Poultry and mice were also found dead in the room.
