Phagwara, March 12: The mother of a youth, who tied the nuptial knot on March nine, today alleged that her son was poisoned to death by his wife who is missing.
Jasbir Kaur alleged that her daughter-in-law served lemonade to her son Kuldip Kumar, aged 25, laced with some poisonous substance on the very next day of their marriage which led to his death.
Kaur, a resident of Kirpal Nagar here, had lodged a complaint in this regard in a police station.
City SHO Amrik Singh Chahal said a case of murder had been registered on her complaint.
“We are waiting for the post mortem report to know the exact cause of the death,” he said adding no arrest had been made so far.
