Newcastle’s Cisse indicted for `violent conduct` over Everton defender nudge

Newcastle United forward Papiss Cisse has been indicted for violent conduct by the Football Association (FA) after elbowing Everton’s defender Seamus Coleman as Alan Pardew’s men clinched a 3-2 win in their Premier League clash.

Cisse, who has scored five goals in six Premier League games, would face a three-match ban if the charge against him is proven.

Cisse has also been given time until 18:00 GMT on Tuesday to respond to the charge, the BBC reported.

However, Everton manager Roberto Martinez said that it was unacceptable as two players fought for their position at a dead-ball situation and one ended up deciding to take the law into his own hands by elbowing a fellow professional, adding that Cisse should have been given a red card.
