New Zealand all out for 192 runs

New Zealand, August 14: Some splendid bowling performance by Sri Lankan pacer and spinners pushed New Zealand on the backfoot in the second ODI of tri-series at Rangagiri International Stadium in Dambulla. New Zealand were bundled out for just 192 runs.

Electing to bat first, Black Caps lost its first wicket in the very first over of the match as pacer Lasith Malinga claimed Guptill for a duck.

However, skipper Ross Taylor added valuable 46 runs with BJ Watling after the early jolt but he failed to consolidate innings and was adjudged LBW off Angelo Mathews. When Taylor dismissed, the score board was reading 47/2.

Kiwis suffered third jolt in form of Williamson, who once again failed to open his account in career’s second ODI.

Scott Styris joined the Watling in the middle and added 52 runs for the fourth wicket. Styris, who scored valuable 89 runs against India, just made 24 runs before dismissed by Rangana Herath.

Mathews got rid off impressive Watling, who scored his maiden ODI fifty today.

Hopkins also failed to improvise the New Zealand innings and he was scalped by pacer Malinga. Maling struck in the next delivery again and dismissed Tuffy for duck.

Herath scalped Mills to complete his second wicket in the match. Mendis dismissed dangerous McCullum for 36 runs.

For Sri Lanka, Malinga and Mathews claimed three wickets each while Herath took two wickets. Mendia nd Kulasekara claimed one wicket each.

In the opening match of New Zealand defeated India with two bonus points.
