New welfare schemes for Minorities under consideration

Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State informed that Govt. of Telangana is considering new welfare schemes for Minorities so that the petty traders could be benefitted. He further said that CM has agreed to convene a high level officers’ review meeting after the party’s training camp which is being held from 1st to 4th May. CM is in favour of spending the entire budget allocated for Minorities. The officials of Minorities Welfare Department have been instructed to propose new schemes. It is propose to release loans to petty traders directly from the Government. In this way the hawkers and vendor would get Rs. 10-15 thousand under self employment schemes. They will also get subsidies. A scheme is under preparation to save the poor persons from the clutches of the money lenders. He also informed that in order to ensure the release of total budget under Shaadi Mubarak Scheme, it will be included in the green channel again. The officials of Finance Department have already been given instructions in this regard. Dy. CM also told that the higher income limit for Minorities will also be raised to enable them to benefit from welfare schemes.

The issue of bifurcation of Wakf Board has almost been completed. Proposals for the bifurcation of Wakf Board have been sent to Central Government. It is hoped that very soon the process of bifurcation of Wakf Board would be completed. The Central Government has formulated certain guidelines for the distribution of assets and income. On these lines, Wakf Board would be bifurcated. Govt. has issued instructions to file an appeal in High Court about the appointment of Special Officer in Wakf Board since the court had set aside this appointment. Dy. CM also told that the top priority of TRS Govt. is to develop the old city of Hyderabad.
