Kiev, February 22: The coalition of stability and reforms may be formed in the Supreme Rada next week, Ukrainian President-Elect Victor Yanukovich has said.
“The active stage of talks will begin on Monday. After a week of talks it will be possible to say something. By the way, the guesstimates are just underway. Each politician is looking into his prospects,” he said in an interview with a television channel yesterday.
According to Yanukovich, it is necessary “to draft a depoliticized agreement based on the policy to solve economic issues, put order in the country and launch reforms.”
“This agreement will suit all factions in the parliament. The name for a new majority is already offered – “the coalition of stability and reforms.”
Currently this name is timely,” the president-elect said.
He also expressed confidence that this majority would be formed already with a new premier in mind. A candidate for premier will be nominated already next week, Yanukovich believes.
“There are several candidates, who are discussed at various levels – Nikolai Azarov, Sergei Tigipko and Arseny Yatsenyuk. It is not difficult to predict who will be stronger among them, around whom the deputies will unite, but we will wait and see,” Yanukovich said.
