New Delhi: CBI’s statement has given a new twist to Najeeb’s case. When the Court asked CBI if it believes Najeeb Ahmed alive or dead? CBI responded by saying that the last time Najeeb was seen going to hostel along with his friend. He disappeared on his own. However, Najeeb’s mother Fatima opposed the statement and demanded a hearing.
Chief metropolitan magistrate of Patiala High Court Manish Khorana asked this question on the issue of Najeeb’s Call Data Records (CDR) not given to Najeeb’s mother. The hearing was posted to June 28.
On the direction of the Court, the CBI handed over all the documents to Najeeb’s mother that were linked to closure report except CDR. When Najeeb’s mother demanded for that the CBI told that not considering it an authentic document, it did not attach it with closure report. Hence the same was not handed over to Najeeb’s mother.
Najeeb’s mother said Najeeb went missing hence CDR is an important document.
The court asked CBI whether it believes Najeeb to be alive or dead. On this, the CBI expressed doubt that Najeeb might be kept hidden. The case is posted on June 28.
Najeeb Ahmad had gone missing from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) hostel on October 15, 2016, following a scuffle with some students belonging to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) an affiliate of BJP.
