Hyderabad, December 27: The South Central Railway is introducing a new Passenger train between Manuguru and Kazipet and a Weekly Holiday Special from Secunderabad to Bhadrachalam Road.
The zonal railway has improved railway infrastructure and train services in the Dornakal-Bhadrachalam- Manuguru section keeping in view the needs of the large n umb e r o f industrial workers in the area and thousands of pilgrims visiting Sri Rama temple in Bhadrachalam.
A new Passenger train, No. 357/358, between Manuguru and Kazipet will be introduced on December 27. Train No 357 Manuguru-Kazipet Passenger will leave Manuguru at 06.30 hours, arrive/ depart Bhadrachalam Road at 07.35/8.00 hours, Dornakal at 09.30/09.35 hours and reach Kazipet at 12.00 hours. In the return direction train No.358 Kazipet- Manuguru Passenger will depart from Kazipet at 13.05 hours, arrive/depart Dornakal at 15.45/16.00 hours, Bhadrachalam Road at 17.30/17.55 hours and arrive at Manuguru at 19.05 hours.
Train No. 325/326 Secunderabad- Bhadrachalam Kakatiya Passenger will be extended up to Manuguru with effect from Dec 27. Train No. 326 Manuguru- Secunderabad Kakatiya Passenger will depart from Manuguru at 22.15 hours, arrive/depart Bhadrachalam Road at 23.20/23.45 hours, Dor nakal at 02.00/03.00 hours, Kazipet at 06.05/06.10 hours and arrive at Secunderabad at 09.25 hours. In the return direction, Its corresponding train No.325 will depart from Secunderabad at 18.40 hours, arrive/ depart Kazipet at 21.38/ 21.43 hours, Dornakal at 00.25/00.35 hours, Bhadrachalam Road at 03.00/03.25 hours and arrive at Manuguru at 04.30 hours.
A Weekly Holiday Special connecting Secunderabad and Bhadrachallam will be introduced to cater to pilgrims. The Secunderabad-Manuguru block of Train No.7050/7049 Secunderabad- Machilipatnam Express will be run as an independent train.
ELECTRIFICATION: The 88-km-long Karepalli-Bhadrachalam Road-Manuguru stretch of track has completely been electrified. Upgradation of the track in the section has resulted in an increase in the speed of trains up to 90 kmph.
AMENITIES: At the Bhadrachalam Road station, more than Rs 4.5 crore has been spent on improvement of passenger amenities like raising and extension and surface improvement of platforms, foot overbridge, new waiting halls, train display and coach indication boards, high-mast lighting in the circulating area, etc.
Additional amenities costing about Rs 1.5 crore, like VIP lounge, additional seating arrangements on platforms, improved lighting, more toilets, better furniture in waiting halls and retiring rooms, extension of the platform shelters and improvement of the facade and circulating area of the station are also being provided.
At Manuguru Rs 50 lakhs has been spent on improving passenger amenities like improvement to station building, raising and extension of platforms, development of the circulating area.
Further, it is proposed to extend the platform shelters costing more than Rs 30 lakh.
SCR closes PRS for maintenance
The Passenger Reservation System (PRS) on the South Central Railway will be shut down from 10 pm of December 27 (Sunday) to 3.30 am of December 28 (Monday) for routine maintenance works. As a result, the current day and Internet booking, enquiry through passenger-operated enquiry terminals (POET) and the interactive voice response system (IVRS) will not function during the period. However, reservation of tickets across the counters will be available during the normal counter working hours on Sunday and Monday.
Cancelled trains to run from today
To avoid causing inconvenience to passengers, all Passenger/ short-distance Express trains that were cancelled today will be restored from December 27. Though track and signal repairs are still in progress trains will be operated at a restricted speed in the affected sections.
