Hyderabad, January 04: Talking to newsmen in secretariat, Mr. Ramnarayan Reddy, Finance Minister hinted that last year, Govt. had not imposed any new tax. This year also, care will be taken not to add any new taxes in the state budget. This year’s budget will be realistic. In the wake of the criticism of public, State Govt. intends to give more weightage to welfare and developmental activities.
He clarified that it is not the intention of the Govt. to slash down any amounts allocated for welfare schemes. Irrigation sector will receive greater attention. Govt. will consider the proposal of RTC for buying 2000 new buses. For RTC, Rs. 150 crore have already been released and very soon Rs. 50 crore will also be released.
