Patna, July 11: A new political party, Bharat Vikas Morcha (BVM), was today launched in Bihar in the presence of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi who assured it his support in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Marandi, whose JVM has 11 MLAs in the 82-member Jharkhand Assembly, said that BVM, which was earlier an apolitical body, had sought the party’s support to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.
“We will return the help extended to the party by the BVM during the 2009 elections. I and other party leaders will campaign in favour of BVM candidates in the upcoming polls,” he said.
Marandi criticised the Congress and the NDA dispensations for “failing” to find out a lasting solution to “naxalism, terrorism, criminalisation of politics and communalism” and said “the JVM and BVM will rake up these issues.
