Hyderabad, June 01: Former chief minister K Rosaiah said a new PCC committee would be constituted soon in order to revive the party in the state. Talking to the media after his meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday, he said the party high command was seized of the matter. Apart from Sonia, the former chief minister also met senior leader Motilal Vora and home minister P Chidambaram.
Sonia is said to have asked him to come to Delhi to discuss the issues related to the party organisation in the state in wake of the defeat of the Congress candidates in the recent byelections in Kadapa.
Rosaiah had written a letter to the party president on the immediacy of strengthening the party in the wake of the local bodies elections in September. The letter forced the high command to discuss the matter with Rosaiah.
Incidentally, Rosaiah, who has never uttered a single word on the party affairs, is talking openly about the difficulties in the party now. Rosaiah is of the view that “since the term of incumbent DSrinivas has ended, there is a need to appoint a new body.”
