Probably fed up with frequent traffic chaos, jams and lack of adequate parking place in the twin cities and inviting wrath from people the government is coming up with a new parking policy to overcome the problem.
Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao today said that a new parking place will be in place to address the traffic problems to reach the targets of protecting carriage way and reduce heavy traffic. The minister admitted that the people of the twin cities are facing traffic problems frequently due to lapses and lacunae in parking areas and road maintenance. The cities and towns are caught up the traffic snarls and causing a lot of inconvenience to the people he felt. Besides multi-level parking places a plan is on cards to make use of empty places for the parking he said. We are considering to offer some incentives to the new buildings which make more parking places KTR said.
The new parking policy will be made in such a way it will pave way for the systematic development of the twin cities. He asked the civic body officials to conduct a special drive to demolish illegal structures and buildings came up in the places allotted for parking specially. Innovative ideas to be followed to make more parking at Metro Rail stations and building multi-level parkings and sky walks he said and asked to construct more number of foot over bridges for the pedestrians.
