New Pakistan Army chief visits ISI headquarters

Pakistan’s new army chief Gen Raheel Sharif was briefed on the security situation in the country during a visit to the Inter-Services Intelligence agency’s headquarters today.

The 57-year-old army chief appreciated the ISI’s role in strengthening national security.

ISI chief Lt Gen Zaheer-ul-Islam briefed Sharif on national security issues.

Sharif took over as chief of the 600,000-strong Pakistan Army last week.
