Hyderabad: Marketing and Mining Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials to prepare new mining policy at the earliest and send it for Cabinet approval.
At a review meeting here he asked the officials to direct collectors to clear pending applications in four weeksand ensure that the people get sand on time. The Government wants to provide sand to the people without any problem, he said and asked the officials to take immediate steps. Apart from a review on sand senerage charges Harish Rao sought to increase revenue targets in the department for 2016-17 and discussed on to appoint 425 new posts to strengthen the wing. He also reviewed on Bayyaram steel plant, drilling, survey, Singareni Collieries functioning, mining and other works. (NSS)
