Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy on Wednesday stated that the new liquor policy would be likely to be announced by July 1.
Talking to media persons after emerging out of Cabinet Sub-committee meeting being convened at Secretariat, Parthasarathy said that a decision on modalities for framing new liquor policy would be taken in one or two days.
He said that the process was being delayed as the Cabinet Sub-committee has received too many suggestions and complaints from people’s bodies and voluntary organizations over the liquor policy.
He said that the policy would be framed after eliciting views from people’s associations and voluntary organizations.
After framing of modalities, he said that the Sub-committee would submit a report to the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Later the Chief Minister would convene a Cabinet sub-committee meeting once again.
Except Ministers K Parthasarathy and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, D Sridhar Babu and C Ramachandraiah did not turn up for the meeting.(INN)
