‘New India ki yehi pahchan, pakoda talta huwa naujawan’: youth protest PM’s remark

Youth for Swaraj, yuva wing of Swaraj India Party of Delhi hit upon a unique way to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks on television in which he said that a person selling ‘pakodas’ and earning Rs 200 per day could not be considered unemployed.

Besides conducting a debate on ‘Future of youth caught in pakoda’ they fried pakodas and described Make in India, Startup India and Standup India as Pakoda schemes. Youth were holding placards with slogans on it. Claiming failure of the above-mentioned schemes they labelled the schemes as pakoda schemes.

The youth marked their protest by setting up a stall with name Kaushal Vikas scheme at Delhi University where mock training was given to youth in pakoda making. Certificates were also issued to the participants which stated that ‘I have obtained pakoda frying training hence I request you to please give me employment.’

A large number of students participated in the protest. The members of Swaraj India were holding placards which read, ‘New India ki yehi pahchan, pakoda talta huwa naujawan’.

President Delhi Swaraj India Mr Anupam said we have not conducted the workshop and the debate just to mock at the government but to question it whether the youth of the country will be reduced to making tea or selling pakodas? He said if Prime Minister Modi could not provide employment to youth, the fury of unemployed youth will wash away his government.
