New front in Maharashtra ahead of Assembly polls: Ambedkar

Solapur, August 01: Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh President Prakash Ambedkar has indicated at the possibility of formation of a new political front in Maharashtra ahead of the Assembly election likely in October.

Talking to media persons here last evening, Ambedkar said the new formation, which is likely to take shape by August 10, will be based on development theme and even saffron allies Shiv Sena and BJP are free to join it.

Criticising Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, he said the former was no longer a well wisher of the farmers of the country.

Pawar’s decisions now a days clearly indicate that he is representing businessmen’s interests instead of those of the farmers, the Dalit leader alleged.

Ambedkar said the Congress-NCP Government’s recent decision to announce multi-crore financial packages for various regions is politically motivated and is aimed at influencing voters ahead of the polls.

“From where are they going to the funds for these financial packages?” he asked
