Minister for Home, Fire and Labour Nayini Narsimha Reddy today said the State government was ready to set up new fire stations at required places in the State.
During question hour, the Home Minister was replying to queries of TRS members G Kishore Kumar, G Balraj and P Venkateshwarlu that whether fire stations will be set up in Assembly segments sans such facility. Narsimha Reddy informed the House that a total of 96 fire stations are working across the State. It was decided to set up new fire stations at other places to tackle the problem of fire accidents.
The Government has sanctioned a fire station to Gajwel, which will be started soon, he said. He also maintained that motor cycles are being pressed with fire tenders to tackle fire accidents at narrow streets or bylanes. The minister said they have already launched 121 fire motorcycles for the purpose and each costs Rs 6.42 lakh. (NSS)
