Telangana State Government today released a new Excise Policy.
Speaking to the media at Secretariat here on Saturday, Excise and Prohibition Minister Padma Rao Goud said 2,216 shops in the State were divided into six slabs. The new policy will come into effect from July 1. He said a Notification will be issued on June 17 followed by receipt of applications till June 21, finalization of tenders through draw of lots on June 23.
The minister said the government issued an order finalizing the fees to be collected as per population. As per the new policy, Rs 32.50 lakh fees will be collected for the area with 10,000 population, Rs 34 lakh for 10,000-50,000 population, Rs 42 lakh for half a lakh to 3 lakh population, Rs 50 lakh for 3 lakh to 5 lakh population, Rs 68 lakh for 5 lakh to 20 lakh population and Rs 90 lakh for 20 lakh population and more.
