Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today commented that a new era has begun in the State.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating new CMO chamber in the Secretariat at Velagapudi, the Chief Minister alleged that the united State was divided for political gain. “Since Independence we faced so many problems. When the State was shifted from Madras to Kurnool, there were no debts. Now a lot of problems cropped up and the people of the State were subjected to injustice and insult after State’s bifurcation. Now we can govern the State from our own land”, he said.
Naidu said, “We laid foundation for the State secretariat on February 17 and within eight months we could succeed in construction of the secretariat building. We want to work from here itself in temporary structures for resolving people’s problems and to meet their aspirations. If we wait till the full-fledged facilities, development would get derailed”. The Chief Minister, however, said Amaravati would be developed into a world class city.
Expressing gratitude to farmers, who voluntarily parted with their lands for development of the State capital, Chandrababu Naidu said they gave us 33,000 acres for the State capital. He reiterated that his government is committed for welfare of women in the State, particularly SHG groups. He also said Rs 25,00 crore would be released for DWCRA groups in the State.
