New districts, a big reform for people: CM

Asserting that formation of new districts was a big reform and people-centric that was ever taken up by any another state in India, Leader of the House K Chandrasekhar Rao today stated it was meant for decentralization of powers down to villages through give good governance and speedy delivery of services at the doorsteps of people.

During a short discussion on administrative reforms, the Chief Minister slammed the Congress for its fuzzy talk on issues in the House. KCR suggested the 125 year long Congress leadership should train their leaders to talk with content on any issues. He opined that the Telangana done a good job by splitting the districts into 31 from 13 post bifurcation. Except Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal all other states in the country have divided the districts for hassle free administration with reforms. Our ultimate motto is to transform the state into golden Telangana with a focus on welfare and development he remarked. With the delimitation of the districts we put a halt to previous difficulty and pain of making a long trek of 200 km to 250 km to reach district headquarters he said.

The delimitation process has paved way for the speedy growth of the state of Telangana giving impetus on inclusive growth and all round development, KCR stated. This big reform made the district and other officials to reach out to the people and address the issues on a war-footing he said. Reacting to Congress member Sampath remarks on central assistance, KCR allayed fears that the Centre has recognized 31 districts in Telangana and there is no need of panicky.

The Centre, all Union Ministries, RBI and NIC have notified our new districts and will get all financial aid and funding as any other districts get. He also said that the Centre has nothing to do with the delimitation of districts in Telangana and we have done it for smooth and speedy governance. After delimitation, there are 14 districts with 2 lakh families, 10 districts with 3 lakh families, 4 districts with 4 lakh families. Now 31 Districts have a total of 468 Divisions, 584 Mandals and 9 Commissionerates and 814 police stations in Telangana, he said. (NSS
