Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said his government would give priority to first supply Pranahitha-Chevella waters to Adilabad district and later to the State.
Participating in Komaram Bheem’s 108th death anniversary at Jode Ghat in Adilabad district, the CM paid rich tributes to the tribal warrior, who sacrificed himself for freedom, water, land and forest resources. He said Adilabad district will be divided into two and the second district besides a new Tribal University will be named after Komaram Bheem. KCR stressed the need for creating awareness among Tribals on healthcare.
Some 500 artistes in 20 groups will be used to create awareness on health needs, he said. The Government will take steps to offer corporate health services to the tribals in the district. The Chief Minister said adequate funds will be released in two to three days to develop the Jode Ghat and implement various welfare schemes. “I will stay here for a couple of days if necessary and press officials into ascertain facts and problems and prepare ground reports”, he said. The related development works will be completed in one year, he assured.
The Chief Minister also said a Banjara Bhavan and Adivasi Bhavan will be constructed at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. “We will take all steps to provide better health services to Tribals, safe drinking water, infrastructure, roads and other basic amenities”, he said, adding that a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to Komaram Bheem’s family members soon.
